Anne Wallace

The first ever Art show that I went to was ‘Private Rooms’ by Anne Wallace at Brisbane City Hall in 2000. I went with my mum I think. It was soo great I loved her work. It was bold and over the top and they really made you think…

Anne Wallace was born in 1970 in Brisbane Australia and still lives here. Her education varies from a Master of Arts, Slade School of Fine Art in London (1994-96), Arts Faculty, University of Queensland (1989-93) and Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts), Queensland University of Technology Brisbane (1990)

Since 1991 Anne has been in 20 Group Exhibitions, being held at Butterfactory Contemporary Artspace (Brisbane), Gold Coast City Gallery(Queensland), Bendigo Art Gallery (Victoria), Museum of Contemporary Art (Sydney), Metro Arts (Brisbane), Warwick Regional Art Gallery (Queensland) and QUT Art Museum (Brisbane), just to name a few. From about 1993 she has also been in about 12 Solo Exhibitions, must of them being at Darren Knight Gallery (Sydney), Brisbane City Gallery (Brisbane), Gallery of Modern Art(Brisbane) and  Institute of Modern Art (Brisbane).

You will find some of her collections at National Gallery of Australia (Canberra), Queensland Art Gallery, Queensland University of Technology, (Brisbane), National Gallery of Victoria, Brisbane City Art Gallery, Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery and Macquarie Bank Collection (Sydney).
